Nottingham Arts Theatre Youth presents...The Addams Family Musical
Performed by the Nottingham Arts Theatre Youth Company, this production follows the group’s recent run of acclaimed musicals. After successes with Les Misérables: School Edition, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and most recently Sweeney Todd, the company reunites with the same production team as Sweeney Todd to present a fresh, energetic, and youth-driven take on this darkly funny modern musical.
The Addams Family brings the delightfully macabre world of everyone’s favourite kooky clan to the stage, blending dark comedy with heartfelt emotion. In this musical comedy, Wednesday Addams has grown up and fallen in love with Lucas Beineke - a “normal” young man from a respectable family. When Wednesday confides her secret to her devoted father, Gomez, he is sworn to silence, setting off a chain of comic misunderstandings and emotional revelations.
The tension escalates when the Beinekes are invited to dinner at the Addams’ eccentric home. As the night unfolds, secrets are spilled, relationships are tested, and the family’s unusual values are put under the microscope. With ancestors rising from the grave to offer commentary and chaos, the story explores themes of love, honesty, and the challenges of growing up - all wrapped in the Addams Family’s signature gothic charm.
With energetic performances and inventive storytelling, this production showcases the talent and passion of our emerging artists. A gripping and dynamic night of theatre awaits.
