The Full Monty Musical

The Full Monty Musical

Presented by Nottingham Arts Theatre

Based on the cult hit film of the same name, The Full Monty a 10-time Tony Award-nominee, is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly-anticipated closing number of any show. The powerhouse team of Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) cook up an aggressive crowd pleaser that both entertains and grabs your heart.

While spying on their wives at a 'Girls' Night Out,' a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo see how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work, and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. In preparing, they find themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness, and prejudices, the men come to discover they're stronger as a group, and the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to "let it go."

The Full Monty is a story full of heart. Right to the end, audiences will be wondering if these lovable misfits will really pull it off. With a raucous mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heartwarming upbeat comedy is a must for any theatre looking for a big hit.

Please note that this show contains nudity, explicit language and suicidal themes. We recommend children should be 12+ and have parental guidance.

Sister Act JR.

Hallelujah! Nottingham will be blessed by award winning students from Attic Theatre School presenting their “divine” production of Sister Act JR. The musical tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a high-spirited aspiring singer, who witnesses a murder and is forced to enter the Queen of Angels convent under witness protection.

‘Raise Your Voice’ is the beautiful, central message of this musical about a willful songstress who finds grace and fulfillment in the place she least expects it.It is only when Deloris takes sanctuary that she finds her place in the world; through the framework of this musical the students show how each of us can find our own unique way to express ourselves.

Joe Avati: When I Was Your Age

Joe Avati: When I Was Your Age

Top of The World Entertainment Presents...

In Joe Avati's new show he asks you to leave your political correctness at the door as he delivers his hilarious insights on how times have changed, for better or worse, since he grew up as a teenager in the 80’s.

Internationally renowned for his inimitable style, Avati, who is Australian born with an Italian heritage, is a master of treading the very fine line saying what everyone seems to think but no one dares to say whilst not resorting to the use of profanities or vulgar shock tactic routines in doing so.

In his latest offering WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE… he tackles the 'then versus now' generational differences of today's kids, the complexities of modern day parenting compared to the strict upbringing of yesteryear and threaded throughout all of this, he tackles the minefield of cancel culture, the woke brigade and why people are over political correctness. His observations are not only deadly accurate but extremely relatable to all ages.

This is a show for all the family. Bring your parents to highlight how much they have changed since they were your age, bring your friends to laugh and reminisce about growing up as teenagers when you were that age and most importantly bring your kids so that they know what you went through “when I was your age…”

G rated - suitable for children 10 and over.

Rita, Sue & Bob Too

Rita, Sue & Bob Too

Diva Productions Presents...

Rita, Sue and Bob Too is a twisted, dark and hilarious comedy drama that tells the story of Rita and Sue, two working class girls from a rundown Bradford council estate who are about to finish their final year at school. In their spare time, they earn money babysitting for married couple Bob and Michelle. Behind Michelle’s back, Bob embarks on an affair with both Rita and Sue, who are both hungry for adult adventure. It is only a matter of time before Michelle and Sue's parents finds out and when they do sparks most definitely fly!

Andrea Dunbar’s semi-autobiographical work is a funny, touching and vibrant play, full of wicked humour and is a stark snapshot of 1980s northern working-class life, under an increasingly repressive Tory government. In 1986, the play was adapted into a film of the same name, and attracted a cult following due to its intimate portrayal of ordinary people’s lives.

Diva Productions are proud to bring back their successful 2022 Yorkshire Tour which was described to have “the heart the size of Yorkshire”, to National audiences this year.
